Huntington Ingalls Increases Quarterly Dividend and Increases Share Repurchase Authorization

On November 5, Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) announced that its Board of Directors increased the company’s quarterly dividend to $1.03 per share. This is an increase from $0.86 per share paid in each of the last four quarters. The Board of Directors also increased the company’s share repurchase authorization from $2.2 billion to $3.2. billion. They extended the current repurchase program for two more years to October 31, 2024.

The stock price moved higher after the market open the next day, and the push higher continued over the next five trading sessions. Huntington Ingalls closed at $253.96 on November 12 for a gain of 10.4%.
